The religious aspects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Náboženské pozadí izraelsko-palestinského konfliktu se zabývá náboženskými prvky v nejdéle trvajícím konfliktu na světě. V první kapitole uvádí historický a politický vývoj regionu, jenž tvoří rámec pro stěžejní části textu. Hlavním cílem této práce je zjistit, zda v konfliktu hraje větší roli náboženství nebo politika. Zaměřuje se na to, jakým způsobem náboženství spory ovlivňuje a vymezuje všechny náboženské prvky, jenž mají na konflikt vliv. V závěru se snaží nastínit postoj obou zainteresovaných stran.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with religious aspects of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, the longest-lasting conflict in the world. The first chapter presents a historical and political development of the region and is meant to be a frame for the mainstay of the thesis. The thesis itself attempts to find out what plays a bigger role in the conflict, religion or politics. It also focuses on how the religion influences the conflicts and it defines all religious aspects which have repercussions on them. In conclusion, it tries to outline the attitudes of both parties.
