Creative clusters in Mexico City on the example of the Corredor Cultural Roma-Condesa project

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou kreativních klastrů v Mexico City. Jejím cílem je zjistit, jak probíhá spolupráce kreativních klastrů na příkladě projektu Corredor Cultural Roma-Condesa, a jak je důležité místo pro projekt. Na základě statistických dat byly identifikovány kreativní distrikty a kreativní sektory tvořící klastry v Mexico City. Pozornost je zaměřena na kreativní distrikt Roma-Condesa, ve kterém se nachází nejvíce kreativních klastrů. Umělecká komunita zde každoročně organizuje projekt Corredor Cultrural Roma-Condesa, který má za cíl rozvíjet oblast současným uměním. Pomocí metod kvalitativního výzkumu – semistrukturovaných rozhovorů bylo zjištěno, jak funguje spolupráce mezi klastry a dalšími podpůrnými subjekty, jaká ze spolupráce vycházejí pozitiva pro členy klastru, proč se klastry soustředí v distriktu Roma-Condesa a jaký má projekt vliv na danou oblast. Práce hledá předpoklady a podmínky pro fungující spolupráci kreativních klastrů a pozitiva klastrů pro rozvoj oblasti.

Abstract:

Master thesis deals with the issue of creative clusters in Mexico City. Its aim is to find out how creative clusters‘ cooperation works on the example of the project „Corredor Cultural Roma-Condesa“, and how the location is important for the project. Based on statistical data, creative districts and creative clusters were identified in Mexico City. Attention is focused on the Roma-Condesa creative district, where the most creative clusters are located. Every year, local community of artists organizes Corredor Cultrural Roma-Condesa, which aims to develop its place with contemporary art. Using qualitative research method – semi-structured interviews, it was found out how cooperation between clusters and other supporting entities works, what are the benefits for cluster members from the cooperation, why clusters are concentrated in Roma-Condesa district and what impact the project has on its place. The thesis looks for conditions for cooperation of creative clusters and positives of clusters for area development.
