This thesis tries to map Egyptian representatives of Islamic modernism crucial ideas and arguments. What I meant to do is to introduce a representative sample of modernistic religious attitudes in Egypt, the most populous Arabian country, in the past two centuries the foremnost centre of modern Islamic thought.
