The present participle and the gerund in the contemporary French of literature - the contrasting study

Abstract:

The topic of this thesis sounds: ? The present participle and the gerund in the contem-porary French litterature - a contrasting study of the parallel textes ?. In the first part of this thesis we describe the characteristics of the present participle and gerund. The second part is focused on the concrete analysis of the present participle examples. We analyse the examples from the book of Franco-Czech writer Milan Kundera. This chapter is separated into several segments in dependance of the present participle function in the sentence. Every of these categories is separated into subgroups in dependence on this phenomenon translation to the Czech language. In the third part we apply to the analysis of the concrete examples of the gerund. As the present participle the gerund can have the different functions in the sentence and it can be translated to the Czech language by the different manners.

Abstract:

Le sujet de notre mémoire de maîtrise est intitulé ? Le participe présent et le gérondif dans la littérature contemporaine française ? étude contrastive des textes parall?les.? Dans la premi?re partie de ce mémoire de maîtrise, nous décrivons les caractéristiques générales du participe présent et du gérondif. La deuxi?me partie est consacrée ? l´analyse des exemples concrets du participe présent. Nous analysons les exemples d´un livre d´écrivain franco-tch?que Milan Kundera. Le chapitre est divisé en plusieurs parties en dépendence de sa fonction dans la phrase. Ensuite, chaque de ces chapîtres est divisé en sous-chapîtres d´apr?s la mani?re de la tra-duction de ce phénom?ne dans la langue tch?que. Dans la troisi?me partie nous nous occupons de l´analyse des exemples concrets du gérondif. Comme le participe présent, le gérondif peut avoir les fonctions différentes dans la phrase et il peut ?tre exprimé en tch?que par les procédés différentes (Téma této diplomové práce zní ?Příčestí přítomné a přechodník přítomný v současné francouzské literatuře ? kontrastivní studie paralelních textů?. V první části této diplomové práce popisujeme obecné charakteristiky těchto dvou jevů/výše zmíněných jevů. Druhá část práce je zaměřena na analýzu konkrétních příkladů příčestí přítomného. Analyzujeme příklady z knihy současného česko-francouzského spisovatele Milana Kun-dery. Kapitola je rozdělena do několika skupin v závislosti na tom, jakou funkci příčestí přítomné plní ve větě. Dále je každá z těchto skupin rozdělena do podskupin podle toho, jakým způsobem je tento jev vyjádřen v českém jazyce. Ve třetí části se zabýváme analýzou konkrétních příkladu přechodníku přítomného, který stejně jako příčestí přítomné plní různé funkce ve větě a v českém jazyce může být vyjádřen různými způsoby.)
