Rituals of catholic in Zlin and Zlin country-side

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je sňatek a svatební rituály, resp. popis a porovnání rituálů sňatku katolického a civilního se zaměřením na okres Zlín. V teoretické části se zabývám tématem sňatku či svatby z několika hledisek. Nejdříve se věnuji teoretickému srovnání sňatku katolického a světského. V práci objasňuji význam svatebních rituálů pro katolickou církev. Další pohled na tuto problematiku je z hlediska historického; zabývám se rituály a významem svatby pro jednotlivé světové kultury. Hlav-ním tématem teoretické části je vývoj svatebních obřadů na západě Evropy a samozřejmě v českých zemích v průběhu staletí. Poslední teoretická pasáž je věnována svatbě jako přechodovému rituálu.Obsahem praktické části práce je zodpovězení výzkumných otázek týkajících se průběhu sňatku na Zlínsku a také toho, jak snoubenci vnímají tuto blížící se událost a samozřejmě jak prožívají přípravy. Výzkum je proveden kvalitativními metodami a technikami.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with marriage and wedding rituals, striving to characterize and compare the catholic and civil wedding ceremonies, specifically in the Zlín region. The theoretical part analyzes the topic of marriage and wedding from several aspects. First of all, the thesis goes into theoretical comparison of catholic and civil marriage and explains the meaning of wedding rituals for Catholic Church. Next section puts the theme into a historical perspective, where the thesis goes into rituals and connotations of wedding in different world cultures. The main theoretical section focuses on the development of wedding ceremonies in Western Europe and of course in Czech lands over the centuries. The final section of the theoretical thesis investigates wedding as a transitional ritual. The field research part aims to answer some research questions related to the wedding procedure in Zlín region and to the feelings of engaged couples towards the wedding and marriage preparation. The research is performed using qualitative methods and techniques.
