Abstract:
Štěnice domácí (Cimex lectularius) je hematofágní parazit, jehož životní strategie spočívá v životě v úkrytu, který opouští pouze za účelem krmení či šíření. Prapůvodním hostitelem těchto parazitů byli netopýři, později přešli i na člověka. Rozdílné způsoby života těchto hostitelů pravděpodobně způsobily i rozdíly nejen morfologické, ale i fyziologické. Bedbugs were originally parasites of bats, later on they passed on to human hosts. This transition caused variety of morphological as well as physiological changes.
