Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá stylem dokumentů používaných v rámci EU a také prvky formality a je rozdělana do několika kapitol. Druhá kapitola přináší stručný popis fungování Evropské unie. Třetí kapitola se zabývá úrovní formality a je úzce spojena s konvencemi lingvistiky. Popsány jsou zde i prvky formálního stylu a jejich výskyt v dokumentech EU. Ve čtvrté kapitole jsou srovnány dva dokumenty, které mají rozdílnou úroveň formality.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with most important aspects of the EU documents style and the markers of formality. The thesis is divided into several chapters. The second chapter presents a brief overview of European Union institutions and introduces the specifity of its documents. The third chapter deals with formality and with the associated linguistic conventions. There is also a describtion of formal features of style and their occurrence in the EU documents. The fourth chapter describes my attempt to compare two documents that have different level of formality.
