The aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe steps leading to women's access to higher education at the University of Oxford. The development of status of women in the United Kingdom is outlined. Then, the thesis pursues the development of women?s education, their beginnings at university as well as the formation of the first women's institutions. Cílem této bakalářské práce, která je sepsána do širšího historického kontextu, je popsat kroky, které pomohly ženám získat přístup ke vzdělání na Oxfordské Univerzitě. Nastíněna je historie postavení žen ve Velké Británii od středověku po současnost.
