Biological diversity of insects in Europe and its conservation

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá diverzitou a ochranou vybraných řádů hmyzu na území států Evropy. Cílem práce je vytvořit literární rešerši o výše uvedené problematice a na jejím základě zpracovat databázi druhové pestrosti hmyzu, jejich ochrany, společně s geografickými a socioekonomickými parametry pro jednotlivé státy a následně analyzovat tyto data se zaměřením na následující hypotézy: a) existuje zaujatost v poměru chráněných druhů pro konkrétní taxony, b) intenzita ochrany je založena na socioekonomických parametrech jednotlivých států. Celkově vybrané řády na území Evropy reprezentuje okolo 78 000 druhů hmyzu, z čehož pouze jedna pětina je chráněna. Nicméně Existují významné rozdíly v počtu chráněných druhů hmyzu mezi vybranými řády. Dále práce posuzuje různé geografické a socioekonomické faktory, které mohou ovlivnit diverzitu a ochranu hmyzu. Z těchto faktorů vycházejí průkazně především - rozloha dané země, velikost chráněných území, počet obyvatel, výše hrubého domácího produktu jednotlivých států. Při analýzách tyto faktory mezi sebou navzájem korelovali.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the diversity and conservation of selected insect orders in Europe. The aim of the thesis is to prepare a review on the above mentioned topic, create a database with informati on about the insect diversity, conservation and socio-economicand geographic parameters for each country and analyse the data with focus following hypotheses: a) there is a bias in proportion of protected species for specific taxa b) intensity of conservation is based on socio-economic parameters of the countries. In total, selected orders represent about78,000 insect species in Europe, of which only one fifth are protected. However, there are signifiant diferences in proportion of protected insect species between selected orders. In addition, the work assesses the different geographic and socio-economic factors that can affect diversity and insect protection. From these factors are proven primarily on - the size of the country, the size of the protected areas, the number of inhabitants, the amount of the gross domestic product of individual states. In analyzes, these factors correlated with each other.
