Bakalářská práce představuje specifický námět antického umění, jímž je katabasis čili sestup do podsvětí. Zabývá se literárním a výtvarným zpracováním dané látky s cílem prozkoumat umělecké výrazové prostředky, jimiž autoři dosahovali sdělení, jež překračovalo jejich smyslovou zkušenost. Abstract:
The Katabasis, that is the descending into Hades, is frequent subject-matter of the ancient mythology, poetry and visual arts. The realm of afterlife transcends the human experience with the ordinary, and that is why a special symbolism and iconography have been developed in the works of epos, i.e. Odyssey and Aeneid. Our work in an attempt in a deeper understanding of such aesthetic experience.
