Evaluation of the effect of lymphatic taping in the acute phase of rehabilitation in surgically treated ankle fractures

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the effect of lymphatic taping used in the acute phase of rehabilitation in patients who underwent surgical treatment after an ankle fracture. The main goal was to prove the effect of lymphatic tape on the reduction of postoperative edema and pain. By comparing two groups of patients who underwent the same rehabilitation program during hospitalization differing only in application of lymphatic tape, its effect on the reduction of swelling, but not on the reduction of pain, was proved. Lymphatic taping, as targeted anti-edematous therapy, can be recommended as a common part of postoperative care.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá efektom lymfatického tejpovania použitého v akútnej fáze rehabilitácie u pacientov, ktorí po zlomenine členka podstúpili operačnú liečbu. Hlavným cieľom bolo dokázať vplyv lymfotejpu na redukciu pooperačného edému a zníženie bolestivosti. Vďaka porovnaniu dvoch skupín pacientov, ktorí absolvovali počas hospitalizácie rovnaký rehabilitačný program s rozdielom v aplikácii lymfotejpu, bol dokázaný jeho vplyv na redukciu opuchu, nie však na zníženie bolesti. Lymfotejping, ako cielenú antiedematóznu terapiu, je možné odporučiť ako bežnú súčasť pooperačnej starostlivosti.
