Mapping the distribution and population size of Pulsatilla grandis at selected localities in the Třebíč region

Abstract:

Z důvodu ohrožení druhu Pulsatilla grandis byl studován jeho historický i současný výskyt, a především populační dynamika na vybraných lokalitách na Třebíčsku – severozápadním okraji jeho světového areálu. Pomocí dat od AOPK ČR a výsledků vlastního terénního průzkumu byla zpracována statistická analýza populačních trendů koniklece, na kterou navazovalo studium faktorů, které mohly ovlivnit velikost populací v pozorovaném období. Výsledky poukázaly na značnou variabilitu populačního vývoje rostlin na lokalitách, která se nepodařila sledovanými faktory (např. klima, management, velikost populace) průkazně vysvětlit. Pomocí prostorové závislosti populačních trendů a souvisejících analýz bylo nicméně odhaleno, že u všech lokalit ve vymezené oblasti Náměšť dochází v posledních letech k výraznému úbytku kvetoucích trsů. Práce by měla sloužit jako upozornění pro ochranu přírody k situaci vývoje populací koniklece na Třebíčsku, zvláště pak na Náměšťsku, a informovat o náročnosti vyhodnocování vlivu nejrůznějších faktorů na tuto rostlinu.

Abstract:

Due to the threat to the species Pulsatilla grandis, its historical and current distribution and especially population dynamics were studied at selected localities in the Třebíč region – the northwestern edge of its global area. Using data from the AOPK ČR and the results of own field research, a statistical analysis of the population trends of Pulsatilla grandis was prepared, followed by an examination of the factors that may have influenced the size of the populations in the monitored period. The results showed considerable variability in the population trends of the plants at the sites, which could not be conclusively explained by the observed factors (e.g. climate, management, population size). However, the spatial dependence of population trends and related analyses revealed that all localities in the delineated area of Náměšť showed a significant decline of flowering clumps in recent years. The work can serve as a warning for nature conservation on the situation of the trends of Pulsatilla grandis populations in the Třebíč region, especially in the Náměšť region, and inform about the difficulty of evaluating the influence of various factors on this plant.
