Reservation system for entrepreneurs and service providers

Abstract:

Rezervační systémy budou stále více důležitou součástí běžných služeb, které využíváme v našem každodenním životě. Práce se zabývá problematikou menšího využívání rezervačních systémů na trhu malých podnikatelů a poskytovatelů služeb. Nejdříve je provedena rešerše aktuálních nejznámějších rezervačních systémů na trhu. Díky tomu jsou určeny základní funkcionality rezervačních systémů a je poukázáno na to, co by mohlo být hlavní překážkou pro běžné malé podnikatele a poskytovatele služeb. Následuje vlastní průzkum vybraných segmentů poskytovatelů, jehož cílem je ověření překážek ve využívání rezervačních systémů a shromažďování poznatků, jak by podle nich mělo ideální řešení vypadat. Na základě získaných poznatků z rešerše a především průzkumu je představen návrh vlastního rezervačního systému, který s využitím doplňujících služeb bude pro tyto poskytovatele vhodným řešením. Návrh je prezentován formou user stories a use case diagramů, dále je graficky znázorněna základní struktura systému se všemi svými důležitými součástmi. V další fázi je rezervační systém v podobě webové aplikace při využití vybraných technologií implementován a otestován. Navazuje analýza legislativních požadavků, které ovlivní provoz webové aplikace. Posléze je představeno, jak bude vedena spolupráce s klienty a jak bude realizována infrastruktura. Na konci je rezervační systém podroben marketingové analýze a je představen ekonomický odhad na první rok provozu, díky čemuž by měla být možná postupná komercializace vzniklého produktu.

Abstract:

Reservation systems are increasingly becoming a vital part of the common services we use in our everyday lives. This thesis addresses the issue of underutilization of reservation systems in the market of small businesses and service providers. Initially, a review of the most well-known reservation systems currently on the market is conducted. This review helps to identify the basic functionalities of reservation systems and highlights potential main obstacles for ordinary small businesses and service providers. This is followed by a survey of selected service provider segments, aimed at verifying the obstacles in using reservation systems and gathering insights on what they believe an ideal solution should look like. Based on the findings from the review and especially the survey, a design for a new reservation system is proposed, which, with the use of additional services, would be a suitable solution for these providers. The proposal is presented in the form of user stories and use case diagrams, and the basic structure of the system with all its key components is graphically illustrated. In the next phase, the reservation system is implemented and tested as a web application using selected technologies. This is followed by an analysis of legislative requirements that will affect the operation of the web application. Subsequently, the collaboration with clients and the implementation of the infrastructure are outlined. In conclusion, the reservation system is subjected to a marketing analysis, and an economic estimate for the first year of operation is presented, which should enable the gradual commercialization of the developed product.
