The use of selected commercial fertilizers in nutrition perennials

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo porovnat vliv několika komerčně dostupných hnojiv na kvalitativní parametry dvou trvalek, které se hojně a s oblibou používají v zahradnické praxi. Hodnocenými kvalitativními parametry jsou doba kvetení a rychlost růstu jednotlivých vývojových fází rostliny. Ze zástupců trvalek byly vybrány Geranium sanguineum a Coreopsis grandiflora. Testovanými hnojivy jsou rohovina, organické NPK - guano, kompost, ledek vápenatý a kravský hnůj. Experiment probíhal v Biotechnologickém pavilonu na Mendelově univerzitě v Brně, a byl realizován formou nádobového pokusu ve vegetační hale. Sledované parametry byly zhodnoceny analýzou rozptylu (ANOVA) s následným testováním pomocí Fisherova LSD testu.Nejvyššího počtu květů u Coreopsis bylo dosaženo při použití organického NPK – guana. Naopak jejich statisticky nejnižší počet byl zjištěn po hnojení kravským hnojem. Nejdelší fáze nárůstu rostlinné hmoty byla získána při použití rohoviny. Ve výsledcích práce je diskutována negativní korelace mezi vysokou teplotou a kvetením.Signifikantně nejvyšší počet květů pro Geranium byl dosažen při hnojení ledkem vápenatým, následován organickým NPK - guanem. Nízký počet květů byl naopak pozorován u rostlin hnojených kravským hnojem a kompostem. Zároveň vytváření nových květů bylo při těchto hnojivech celkově delší než u ostatních hnojiv.Z naší studie je patrné, že aplikace kravského hnoje a kompostu snižuje produkci květů, tyto hnojiva však mohou hrát významnou roli v půdním ekosystému a mohou zlepšit fyzikální vlastnosti půdy.

Abstract:

The aim of the work was to compare the effect of different types of commercially available fertilizers on qualitative parameters of two perennial species which are commonly used in horticultural practice. The qualitative parameters are time of flowering and total volume of plant body. Geranium sanguineum and Coreopsis grandiflora were used in the experiment. From commercial fertilizers hoof and horn meal organic fertilizer, NPK organic – guano, compost, Norwegian saltpeter (Calcium nitrate) and cow manure. The experiment was held in Biotechnological pavilion in Mendel University in Brno. The trial was realized in form of precise container experiment in vegetation hall. Numbers of qualitative parameters were statistically tested with Fisher´s LSD test and Analysis of variance (ANOVA).For Coreopsis sp., in case of number of blossoms were the highest when NPK organic – guano fertilizer was used. On the other hand, the lowest number of blossoms were present when cow manure was present. The highest plant mass was yielded in case of usage hoof and horn meal organic fertilizer. In the theses, negative correlation between high temperature and flowering is discussed.The highest number of blossoms on Geranium sp. was in case of fertilizing with Norwegian saltpeter (Calcium nitrate) follows by NPK organic – guano. Contrarily, the low amount of blossoms was observed for cow manure and compost but the time of creating new blossoms was overall longer then in case of previous fertilizers. In our study, cow manure and compost would not satisfy the aim of plants to produce the highest amount of blossoms, but these substrates can play a significant role in ecosystem service in improving soil physics.
