Hlavním tématem práce je využívání odpadového materiálu ve vybraných výtvarných uměleckých dílech 20. století. Autorka textu se nejprve obecněji zabývá definicí odpadového materiálu, historickým vývojem jeho použití a třídění a také uvědoměním jeho estetičnosti – například v literatuře.
