Opportunities and risks of using consortia of microbial probiotics to improve soil quality and crop vigour

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na význam mikrobiálních konsorcií probiotik (MKP) v zemědělství. V úvodu práce je popsán současný zvýšený zájem o výzkum a komerční využití MKP, což může vést ke zkresleným představám veřejnosti ohledně těchto nově se objevujících produktů na trhu. V literární části jsou analyzovány pozitivní účinky MKP, včetně jejich schopnosti zpřístupňovat živiny, podporovat růst plodin, stimulovat obranyschopnost rostlin, zlepšovat nutriční kvalitu plodů, snižovat závislost na minerálních hnojivech a podporovat zdraví půdy. Zároveň se tato část práce věnuje i negativům MKP, jako jsou problémy s vládní regulací komerčního využití, nekonzistence účinků a možnému snižování pestrosti druhového složení rhizomikrobiomu. Závěr literární části se zabývá možnými opatřeními pro eliminaci negativních vlivů MKP. V praktické části je prezentován experiment s aplikací vybraných MKP, kde se hodnotí jejich dopad na růst rostlin a omezení vyplavování živin. Získané výsledky nabízí užitečné poznatky pro možné využití MKP v zemědělských postupech.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the importance of microbial probiotic consortia (MPCs) in agriculture. The introduction of the thesis highlights the current increased interest in the research and commercial use of MPCs, which may lead to public misconceptions regarding the effects of these emerging products in the marketplace. The positive effects of MPCs are analyzed, including their ability to make nutrients available, promote crop growth, stimulate plant defenses, improve nutritional quality of fruits, reduce dependence on mineral fertilizers, and promote soil health. At the same time, the paper also discusses the negatives of MPCs, such as problems with approval, inconsistency of effects, and potential reduction of rhizomicrobiome biodiversity. The conclusion of the literature section discusses the principles and process of MPCs synthesis, which this thesis suggests can eliminate some of the negative effects in application. In the practical part, an experiment on the application of selected MPCs is presented to evaluate their impact on plant growth and reduction of nutrient leaching. The results obtained offer useful insights for the possible use of MPCs in improving agricultural practices
