Social lives of singles over thirty years and the response of social work

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou singles starších 30 let, jejich sociálním životem, a možnou reakcí sociální práce. Cílem diplomové práce je popsat aspekty sociálního života singles starších 30 let, zjistit, jak hodnotí svůj sociální život, a zda by dle jejich názoru v této oblasti mohla najít své uplatnění i sociální práce. V teoretické části práce popisuje kapitoly o změnách ve společnosti, zejména vlastnosti moderní společnosti ve druhé fázi modernizace, poté popisuje pomocí definic a statistických dat, kdo jsou singles. Věnuje se vysvětlení pojmu sociální život za pomoci sociálního fungování a lidských potřeb, na což poté navazuje kapitola o sociální práci. Ta popisuje koncept sociálního fungování jakožto předmět sociální práce, uvádí poslání a cíl sociální práce, paradigmata sociální práce, a nastiňuje, čím by sociální práce mohla skupině singles pomoci. Na teoretickou část navazuje výzkumná část práce. Nejdříve se zde popisuje samotná metodologie výzkumu a poté se práce věnuje analýze a interpretaci zjištěných dat. Data jsou získána pomocí provedení rozhovorů se singles ve stanoveném věku 30 - 45 let a jsou vyhodnocena pomocí metody zakotvené teorie.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with issues of singles older than 30 years, their social life, and the possible reaction of social work. The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe aspects of social life of singles older than 30 years, to find out how they evaluate their social life and whether in their opinion social work could be applied here. The theoretical part describes the chapters about changes in society, especially the features of modern society in the second phase of modernization, then describes with definitions and statistical data who are singles. It is devoted to explaining the concept of social life with the help of social functioning and human needs, followed by a chapter on social work. It describes the concept of social functioning as the subject of social work, the mission and goal of social work, the paradigms of social work, and outlines how social work could help singles. The theoretical part follows the research part of the thesis. The research methodology is first described, and then the thesis deals with the analysis and interpretation of the data. The data are obtained by performing interviews with singles at the specified age of 30-45 years and are evaluated using the grounded theory.
