Stress and Burnout Syndrome in Nurses of Intensive Care Units

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problém stresu a syndromu vyhoření u všeobecných sester, které pracují v prostředí intenzivní péče. V teoretické části jsme se za-měřily na charakteristiku syndromu vyhoření, jeho prevenci, rozpoznání, diagnostiku a případné řešení problému, dále pak byl popsán stres, jeho charakteristika, dále pří-znaky, prevence stresu a případné jeho řešení. V poslední části teoretické části jsme se zaměřily na stručný úvod do intenzivní medicíny. Část empirická je zaměřena na zpracování kvalitativního výzkumu u respondentů formou rozhovoru a standardizovaného dotazníku zaměřeného na stres a syndrom vyhoření. Výzkumné šetření bylo prováděno pomocí rozhovorů a na závěr každého rozhovoru byly použity standardizované dotazníky. Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na vzorek respondentů, kteří pracují na oddělení intenzivní péče a jejich zkušenosti se stresem a syndromem vyhoření. Výsledky výzkumného šetření přibližují náhled na zkušenosti všeobecných sester s výše uvedenou problematikou. Získané údaje mohou pomoci v oblasti vyššího managementu.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the problem of stress and burnout in general nurses who work in an intensive care environment. In the theoretical part, we focused on the characte-ristics of burnout syndrome, its prevention, recognition, diagnosis and possible solution of the problem, as well as the description of stress, its characteristics, as well as symptoms, prevention of stress and possible solution. In the last part of the theoretical part, we focused on a brief introduction to intensive medicine. The empirical part is focused on the processing of qualitative research in respondents in the form of an interview and a standardized questionnaire focused on stress and burnout syndrome. The research investigation was carried out by interviews and standardised questionnaires were used at the end of each interview. The thesis focuses on a sample of respondents who work in the intensive care department and their experience with stress and burnout syndrome. The results of the research survey provide an insight into the experience of general nurses with the above issue. The data collected can help in the field of senior management.
