Business ethics

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem etika v podnikání, konkrétně v pohřebnictví. Jsou zde stanoveny základní pojmy a definice. Je uveden i historický nástin etiky a lidstva. Dále je zde uveden rozdíl mezi etikou a etiketou. Dva rozdílné pojmy, které spolu ale souvisí. Aby firmy fungovaly správně, je nutné dát jim nějaký řád. Etické kodexy mohou být součástí řešení, proto se jimi tato bakalářská práce zabývá taktéž. Dále je zde zmíněno podnikatelské prostředí v Čechách a jeho vývoj. Jako stěžejní postavu, která podnikatelské prostředí u nás ovlivnila, jsem vybrala Tomáše Baťu. Jeho přínos je neoddiskutovatelný, jeho trvání na etickém přístupu k zaměstnancům ovlivnilo mnoho dalších podnikatelů i podniků. V této práci je také zmíněna odpovědnost v podnikání vůči okolí. Dále je uvedeno etické či neetické chování státního sektoru. Bylo nutné uvést i logické odůvodnění užití etiky v podnikání. Na závěr byl použit konkrétní příklad pohřebnictví a příklady neetického jednání v tomto oboru. Jsou zde ale uvedeny i nápravné kroky, které se snaží aplikovat Sdružení pohřebnictví.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic - business ethics. Concretely, it gives the example of ethics in the sphere of undertaker's. There are stated all of the needed terms and definitions. There is also said how ethics influenced people throw the history. Furthermore, you can find the difference between ethics and etiquette. These two terms are often misunderstood but they cohere. To make firms work well, you need to give them some rules. Code of ethics may be part of the solution.That is the reason why codes of ethics are mentioned in this thesis as well. Business background in our country and its history is mentioned here. The main person who influenced our business background was undoubtfully Mr. Tomáš Baťa. He was very precise and insisted on ethical behaviour to his employees. There is also mentioned the responsibility in business to its background and surroundings in this thesis. Then you can find how our government behaves both ethically and unethically. It was vital to write about logical reason why to use ethics. At the end you can find examples of unethical behavior of concrete undertaker's. Nevetheless, there are some positive arrangements, which are applied by the Undertaker association.
