Preparation and Characterization of Silicon-based Structured Surfaces

Abstract:

Cílem této práce byl vývoj a optimalizace nového postupu přípravy strukturovaných povrchů na bázi křemíku metodou anizotropního leptání v teplotních spádech. Tyto povrchy byly následně charakterizovány metodami pro zobrazení topografie povrchu mikroskopií atomárních sil (AFM) a skenovací elektronovou mikroskopií (SEM). Byl zkoumán vliv čistoty povrchu, složení leptacího činidla, času leptání, objemu leptacího média, teploty a teplotních spádů. Z výsledků vyplynulo, že volbou optimálních parametrů leptacího procesu a s použitím speciálně upraveného zařízení pro leptání křemíkových waferů lze připravit různě strukturované povrchy s rozdílnou homogenitou pokrytí a velikostí jednotlivých strukturních útvarů.

Abstract:

The goal of this work was the development and optimization of a novel process for the pre-paration of structured silicon-based surfaces using anizotropic etching in a temperature gradient. These surfaces were further characterized using surface displaying methods atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The effects of etching solvent composition, etch time, etching solvent volume, temperature, temperature gradient and surface purity were studied. The experimental results show that by choosing optimal etching parameters and when using modified machine made for Si wafer etching one can prepare differently structured surfaces which differ in homogenous coverage of etched area and in size of structural elements.
