Impact of urine incontinence on women's quality of life

Abstract:

Močová inkontinence obtěžuje velkou část ženské populace a omezuje ji v různých oblastech života. Pomocí léčby se odborní lékaři snaží tato omezení eliminovat nebo snížit. Mnoho žen ale svůj problém s odborníky neřeší, protože nejsou o problematice dostatečně informované. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem močové inkontinence na kvalitu života ženy. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zmapovat kvalitu života inkontinentních žen v Jihomoravském kraji pomocí dotazníku kvality života King's Health Questionnaire. Dále na základě otázek vlastni konstrukce zmapovat míru orientační informovanosti žen o problematice týkající se inkontinence moči, zjistit jejich spokojenost se svou informovaností, čeho by se měly týkat informace, které by se chtěly o problematice ještě dozvědět a vytvořit edukační materiál obsahující souhrn nevyžadovanějších informací. Práce je rozdělená na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část pojednává o anatomii a funkci dolních močových cest, močové inkontinenci, její klasifikaci, rizikových faktorech a příčinách vzniku inkontinence, diagnostice, léčbě, inkontinenčních pomůckách, kvalitě života postižených žen a jejich edukaci. Pro výzkumné šetření jsem zvolila metodu kvantitativní. Dotazník byl tvořen 37 otázkami z části vlastní tvorby a z části otázkami již daného dotazníku kvality života – King's Health Questionnaire – rozděleného do několika oblastí omezení života – oblasti fyzické aktivity, sociální aktivity a mezilidských vztahů, emocionální problémy, vliv na spánek a celkovou únavu, stupeň závažnosti opatření vyvíjených k vyrovnání se s obtížemi a vliv močové inkontinence na celkový zdravotní stav postižených. Z výsledků vyplývá, že respondentky problémy s močením omezují ve všech zmíněných oblastech, na základě vyhodnocení dotazníku je míra těchto omezení pouze mírná, kvalita života respondentek se pohybuje v rozmezí dobré až přijatelné. Nejvyšší omezení žen je v oblasti každodenních činností a oblasti fyzických činností a sociálních aktivit. Většina respondentek se v problematice orientuje. Jako edukační materiál byl vytvořen letáček, obsahující informace nejvíce vyžadované respondentkami, určený především pro ženy, které močovou inkontinencí trpí, ale prozatím svůj problém odborně neřešily.

Abstract:

Urinary incontinence bothers a large part of female population and limits their lifes in different sphere of life. By treatment, specialized doctors try to eliminate or reduce these limitations. But many women do not solve their problem with experts because they are not sufficiently informed about the the issue. This bachelor thesis deals with impact of urine incontinence on women's quality of life. The main goal of the work was to map the quality of life of incontinence women in the South Moravian Region using the King's Health Questionnaire Quality of Life Questionnaire. Furthermore, on the basis of the questions of my own creation, to map the level of orientation of women about the issue of urinary incontinence, to find out their satisfaction with their knowledge of the issue, to find out about what should be information that women would like to learn about the issue, and to create an educational material containing a summary of the most requested information. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with anatomy and function of lower urinary tract, urinary incontinence, its classification, risk factors and causes of incontinence, diagnosis, treatment, aids, the quality of life of women afflicted by urine incontinence and their education. For the research I chose the quantitative method. The questionnaire consisted of 37 questions, part of my own creation and part of questions of the already set questionnaire of quality of life - King's Health Questionnaire - divided into several spheres of limitations of life – role limitations, psychical/social limitation, personal relationships, emotions, sleep/energy, the degree of severity of the measures taken to cope with the difficulties and the impact of urinary incontinence on the general health of the affected. The results show that the respondents are limited by their bladder problems in all the mentioned spheres, based on the calculation of score of the questionnaire the levele of the limitation in these womenˈs lifes is little, the quality of lifes of the respondents ranges from good to fair. The most limitated sphere of lifes of respondents was the sphere of role limitations and the sphere of psychical/social limitation. The most of respondents are well informed about the issue. As an educational material was created a leaflet containing the information most required by the respondents, designed primarily for women who suffer from urinary incontinence, but have not yet solved their problem by specialists.
