Development of space Brno-Vienna

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce zkoumá vývoj vztahů mezi městy Brnem a Vídní a to jak z pohledu historie, tak především z pohledu současnosti. Vývoj vztahů Brna a Vídně do roku 1989 je zkoumán z pohledu vztahů a vazeb politických, ekonomických, kulturních, resp. dopravních. V předkládané práci je použit Reillyho model, pomocí kterého je vymezena sféra vlivu Brna a Vídně v daném časovém období. Hlavní důraz předkládané práce je kladen na novodobý vývoj vztahů mezi Brnem a Vídní, resp. v období po roce 1989. Jedná se o zkoumání koexistence Brna a Vídně ve středoevropském prostoru, o porovnání rozvojových politik obou měst a práce je především pokusem o zachycení současného ekonomického a kulturního prostoru Brna a Vídně (především jde o zkoumání vzájemných vazeb). Závěrečná část je zaměřena na zhodnocení pozice Brna a Vídně v širším kontextu evropského urbánního systému.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the development of relations between Brno and Vienna which is done from the perspective of history and present time. The development of the relations between Brno and Vienna up to 1989 was researched from the perspective of political, economic and cultural relations as well as from the perspective of the transportation linkages. There was used Reilly Model in the thesis through which it was possible to define the sphere of influence of Brno and Vienna in a given period of time. The main focus of the thesis is the development of the current relations between Brno and Vienna (after 1989). It concerns mainly the co-existence of Brno and Vienna in Central Europe, the comparison of the urban strategic policies of the two cities and the thesis aims to capture the current economic as well as the cultural sphere of Brno and Vienna. The final part of the thesis is focused on the evaluation of the position Brno and Vienna in a broader context of the European urban system.
