The Role of Leisure-Time Activities in the Lives of People with Disabilities in the Context of Their Social Integration

Abstract:

This master’s thesis deals with the topics of leisure and social integration of people with disabilities. The main aim of the thesis was to identify and describe the role of leisure-time activities for the social integration of people with disabilities. A secondary aim was to identify the factors that influence how these people spend their leisure time. The objectives of the thesis were achieved through qualitative research, specifically through the method of semi-structured in-depth interviews with 11 participants. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part of the thesis contains definitions of key terms and concepts as well as the theoretical framework that was the basis for the conducted research. The empirical part of the thesis consists of a description of the methodology, a presentation of the research results and their discussion with the findings from the scientific literature. The empirical part also contains the answers to the research questions.

Abstract:

Táto diplomová práca sa venuje témam voľného času a sociálnej integrácie ľudí so zdravotným postihnutím. Hlavným cieľom práce bolo zistiť a priblížiť úlohu voľnočasových aktivít pre sociálnu integráciu ľudí so zdravotným postihnutím. Vedľajším cieľom bola identifikácia faktorov, ktoré majú vplyv na to, ako títo ľudia trávia svoj voľný čas. Tieto ciele práce boli naplňované prostredníctvom kvalitatívneho výskumu, konkrétne metódou pološtrukturovaných hĺbkových rozhovorov s 11 respondentmi. Diplomová práca je tradične delená na teoretickú a empirickú časť. Teoretická časť práce obsahuje definície kľúčových pojmov a konceptov a tiež teoretický rámec, ktorý bol základom pre prevedený výskum. Empirickú časť práce tvorí popis metodológie, priblíženie výsledkov výskumu a ich diskusia so zisteniami odbornej literatúry. V empirickej časti sú taktiež zodpovedané výskumné otázky.
