Impact of the construction of the high-speed railway line Ústí nad Labem - Prague on traffic preferences of passengers

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na potenciální dopad výstavby vysokorychlostní tratě Ústí nad Labem - Praha na dopravní preference cestujících na této trase. Cílem práce bylo analyzovat zjištěné preference a k dosažení tohoto cíle bylo využito dotazníkové šetření, v jehož rámci bylo realizováno 220 face to face rozhovorů na základě dotazníků s respondenty ve vlacích a automobilech na studované trase. Dotazníkové šetření se věnovalo jak stávající dojížďce, tak potenciálnímu využívání plánované vysokorychlostní tratě cestujícími. Výsledky šetření naznačují především dvě skutečnosti. Tou první je, že dopravní preference se mezi cestujícími výrazně liší, především z hlediska ekonomické aktivity cestujících, zejména mezi studenty a zaměstnanci. Dále by mohlo dojít po výstavbě vysokorychlostní tratě, která zkrátí cestovní dobu mezi Ústím nad Labem a Prahou zhruba na polovinu, k frekventovanější mobilitě cestujících jak do Ústí nad Labem, tak do Prahy.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the potential impact of the construction of the high-speed railway Ústí nad Labem - Prague on traffic preferences of passengers on this route. The aim of the thesis is to analyze traffic preferences of passengers and to achieve this aim was used a questionnaire survey with 220 face to face interviews with respondents in trains and cars on the analyzed route. The questionnaire survey was focused on existing commuting of passengers and the potential use of the planned high-speed line by passengers. The results of the questionnaire survey imply two facts. First is, that traffic preferences differ significantly between passengers, especially in terms of economic activity of passengers, between students and employees. And second, the mobility of passengers to Ústí nad Labem and Prague might be more frequent after the construction of the high-speed line that will reduce time of traveling between Ústí nad Labem and Prague by half.
