Analysis of English words appearing in magazines for teenagers and their occurrence in the vocabulary of pupils at lower secondary schools

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou výskytu anglicismů v časopisech pro mládež a navazuje tak na bakalářskou práci „Výrazy přejaté z angličtiny v současných časopisech pro mládež a jejich recepce“. Hlavním cílem bylo zjistit, jaké místo zaujímají anglicismy ve slovní zásobě žáků jednotlivých ročníků 2. stupně základních škol, jestli žáci znají jejich správný význam, zda vědí, kdy se tyto výrazy používají, nebo jestli mají v českém jazyce dané ekvivalenty. Pro výzkum byl sestaven dotazník.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the problem of using English expressions in the magazines for teenagers and follows the bachelor thesis „English Loanwords in the Speech of Teenagers and in Magazines for Youth“. The main aim was to find out whether the English expressions were used by the pupils of the lower secondary schools, whether the pupils knew the meaning of the words, when to use them, or which Czech words could replace them. A questionnaire was made for the research.
