Post-revolutionary Cuba in Wendy Guerra's novel Todos se van (2006)

Abstract:

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out what impact the Cuban Revolution and the post-revolutionary period had on the lives of the central characters of the novel Todos se van by Wendy Guerra. The bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical part in which we will recall the history of Cuba from the discovery by Christopher Columbus in 1942 to the 21st century. We will also learn about the life and work of the author of the novel Todos se van Wendy Guerra. In the practical part, we will discuss the novel Todos se van from 2006 itself. The intention of the practical part is to explore how the revolution, but especially the post-revolutionary period, affected the life of the novel's main character, a girl named Nieve, and those close to her.

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je zjištění, jaký vliv měla Kubánská revoluce a porevoluční období na život ústředních postav románu Todos se van autorky Wendy Guerra. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na teoretickou část, ve které si připomeneme historii Kuby od objevení Kryštofem Kolumbem v roce 1492 až po 21. století. Seznámíme se také se životem a dílem autorky novely Todos se van Wendy Guerra. V praktické části pak důkladněji rozebereme samotné dílo, novelu Todos se van z roku 2006. Záměrem praktické části je prozkoumat jak revoluce, ale především pak porevoluční období ovlivňovalo život ústřední postavy románu, dívky jménem Nieve a jejich blízkých.
