Status of Uzbek minority in neighboring countries

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřená na uzbeckou menšinu ve Střední Asii. Uzbekové jsou nejpočetnějším Etnikem v oblasti Střední Asie, tvoří důležitou menšinu ve většině zemí Střední Asie, nejpočetnější menšinou jsou v Tádžikistánu, Kyrgyzstánu, Turkmenistánu, ale také jsou důležitou menšinou v Kazachstánu. Cílem práce je posoudit postavení uzbecké menšiny a proto je v práci důležité zahrnout sovětskou historii prostoru, historii jednotlivých zemí, politický vývoj po pádu Sovětského svazu, problémy uzbeckého etnika v každé zemi zvlášť. Důležité jsou indikátory postavení, které jsou v práci rozebrány v teoretické části, kde se práce zaměřuje na možnosti politického prosazování zájmu etnika, lingvistická práva, socioekonomické postavení, ale také symbolický status menšin. Práce rovněž shrnuje geografické postavení etnika. Hlavní kapitoly této práce se věnuji analýze postavení uzbecké menšiny v jednotlivých státech. Právě postsovětský vývoj oblasti velice ovlivnil postavení většinového obyvatelstva k Uzbekům. Každá země je shrnuta zvláště a celkově zhodnocení postavení ve všech středoasijských republikách je posouzena v závěru práce. Je zde nastíněn i budoucí možný vývoj uzbeckého etnika v středoasijských zemích.

Abstract:

This work is focused on the Uzbek minority in Central Asia. Uzbeks are the most numerous ethnic groups in Central Asia. They are an important minority in the most countries of Central Asia. They are the largest minority in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, but also are important minority in Kazakhstan. The goal of this work is define the status of the Uzbek minority. Therefore is important to include the work of Soviet space history, the history of the country, political developments after the fall of the Soviet Union, the problems of Uzbek ethnicity in each country separately. Important indicators are positions, that are explained in the theoretical part, the work focuses on the possibility of political promotion of the interests of ethnic, linguistic rights, socioeconomic status, but also the symbolic status of minorities. The thesis also summarizes the geographical position of ethnicity. The main chapters are devoted to the analysis of the status of the Uzbek minority in each country. Also how the post-Soviet development of the region greatly influenced by the position of the majority of the population to the Uzbeks. Each country is summarized in particular and overall assessment of the status of all Central Asian republics are considered in the conclusion. There is outlined the possible future development of Uzbek ethnicity in Central Asian countries.
