Pathological Gambling and Personality of the Gambler

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Patologické hráčství a osobnost gamblera“ pojednává o gamblerství jako vzrůstajícím fenoménu a jeho dopadu na psychosociální stránku života. Teoretická část zahrnuje nejen psychické a sociální aspekty gamblerství, ale také poukazuje na možnosti prevence. Pro empirickou část práce jsem použila kasuistiky patologických hráčů, pomocí kterých jsem chtěla poskytnout důležité informace o světe gamblerů, o prožívání závislosti a vlivu na jejich dosavadní život.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis entitled “Pathological Gambling and Personality of the Gambler” deals with gambling as an increasing phenomenon and its impact on the psychological-social aspects of life. The theoretical part includes psychological and social aspects of gambling as well as the potentials of prevention. For the empirical part of the work, I used casuistry of pathological gamblers, by which I tried to provide important information about the world of gamblers, about the addiction experience and its impact on their life.
