Abstract:
This thesis deals with the role of human body in British Gothic fiction of the eighteenth and nineteenth century and its development. The Gothic body is understood as an embodiment of anxieties and disturbances which wre caused by political, cultural and social changes.
Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá rolí lidského těla v Britské gotické fikci osmnáctého a devatenáctého století a jejím vývojem. Gotické tělo je chápáno jako ztělesnění obav a poruch, jež byly odrazem politických, kulturních a sociálních změn.
