Beginning of history solution of problem three bodies

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje způsobům řešení problému tří těles vyvinutých Newtonem, Eulerem, Lagrangem a Laplacem pro nalezení pohybu významných těles Sluneční soustavy. Vychází z původních prací a také jejich studií. Newton určil síly působící v systému tří těles a popsal jejich účinek na oběžné dráhy. Významnější pokrok v řešení problému přišel s rozvojem matematiky. Leonhard Euler začal využívat rozvoje do trigonometrických řad a naznačil metodu změn dráhových parametrů. Lagrange tuto metodu rozpracoval, zavedl poruchovou funkci a odvodil zákony zachování. Laplace s využitím Lagrangeovy poruchové funkce dokázal stabilitu systému a vysvětlil pozorované nerovnosti v pohybu Jupiteru a Saturnu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with manners of solving three-body problem formed by Newton, Euler, Lagrange and Laplace for finding motions of solar system bodies. Text of this thesis is based on the original publications, papers and their studies. Newton determined the forces acting on the system of three bodies and described their effects on the orbit. More significant progress in solving the problem came with the development of mathematics. Leonhard Euler started to use trigonometric series development and suggested method of the variation of orbital elements. Lagrange developed this method, introduced perturbing function and derived conservation laws. Laplace with using of perturbing function proved stability of the solar system and explained the inequalities in the motions of Jupiter and Saturn.
