Proposal of the application prototype for visitors of museums with the use of the QR and NFC technologies

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce Návrh prototypu aplikace pro návštěvníky muzeí, s využitím technologií QR a NFC je seznámit s možností využití nových elektrotechnických technologií pro interaktivnější zážitek návštěvníka paměťové instituce s vystavenými exponáty a navržení prototypu potřebné aplikace. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na dvě části. V první, teoretické, části autor čtenáře seznamuje se situací ve světě s využíváním služeb, jichž se týká tato práce. Dále seznamuje s collection management systémem a základy technologií, na jejichž využití staví funkčnost aplikace, tedy QR a NFC. Jelikož NFC navazuje na standardy starší technologie RFID, je stručně popsána i ta. Následně shrnuje teoretické poznatky z oblastí HCI a prototypování. V druhé, praktické, části tyto teoretické poznatky jsou využity pro vytvoření prototypu aplikace. Autor se dále věnuje ukázkám z naprogramování NFC Tagu a vytvoření QR kódu.

Abstract:

The goal of the master thesis Proposal of the application prototype for visitors of museums with the use of the QR and NFC technologies, is to introduce a possibility of a new application of electro-technical technologies to provide more interactive experience for the visitor of the memory institution with the exhibits, as well as a proposal of the necessary application prototype. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first, theoretical part, the author introduces to the readers the world situation in using services, on which this thesis is focused. Furthermore, it presents the collection management system and theoretical backgrounds of the QR and the NFC technologies, on which the function of the application is based. As the NFC follows the standards of the older RFID technology, it is briefly described as well. Subsequently, it summarizes the theoretical knowledge from the prototype and the HCI areas. In the second, application part, the theoretical knowledge is used as a base for the application prototype. The author further focuses on programming examples of the NFC Tag and build up of the QR code.
