Abstract:

The thesis should answer these questions: What are the linguistics characteristics of British women's and men's lifestyle magazines? What is typical of each magazine which was chosen for the analysis? In what way does each magazine differ from the others? What do they have in common? What is the structure of the magazines? Who are the target readers of the magazines? Do the magazines create any gender stereotypes? How do the women's lifestyle magazines differ from the men's lifestyle magazines? What is typical of the language of the magazines? Does the language include any features of the spoken language?
