Folklór v digitálním věku má tendenci pohybovat se na hranici mezi skutečností a fikcí. Creepypasty, které jsou hybridem městských legend a hororové fikce, spoléhají na schopnost publika tzv. odložit svou nedůvěru a vyznačují se iluzí autenticity i schopností děsit a znepokojovat čtenáře. Abstract:
Folklore in the digital age has a tendency to straddle the boundary between fact and fiction. A hybrid of urban legends and horror fiction, creepypastas rely on the audience’s ability to suspend their disbelief and are distinguished by their illusion of authenticity as well as their capacity to terrify and disturb readers.
