Failure of EULEX Mission in Kosovo

Anotace:

The European Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) is the largest mission deployed externally in Kosovo whose main goal has been to endow local institutions in the fields of Justice, Police and Customs. EULEX has been deployed since in 2008 and the mandate of the mission is expected to expire in June 2016. This thesis aims to present an outlook on the role of this mission, its functioning, the assistance given in achieving the established benchmarks in Kosovo during these eight years and what has not been achieved exactly. In order to support my arguments this thesis presents and analyzes interviews conducted with EULEX officials, Representatives of Kosovo’s Ministry of European integration and Ministry of Justice and Member of Civil Society operating in Kosovo.
