This thesis analyses the interior decoration of St. Francis of Assisi church in Detva, with the emphasis especially on iconographic explanation of the main paintings. The first part is devoted to the history of Franciscan order in Slovakia and the history of depicting of Saint Francis. Práca sa zaoberá výzdobou kostola svätého Františka z Assisi v Detve, pričom hlavný dôraz je kladený na ikonografickú zložku diel nachádzajúcich sa v ňom. V prvej časti sa zbežne venuje tiež histórii rádu františkánov na území Slovenska a tiež histórii zobrazovania svätého Františka.
