Personality traits and travel motivation among university students

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na identifikaci rozdílů v osobnostních charakteristikách a cestovní motivaci v závislosti na stylu cestování u vysokoškolských studentů. Teoretická část představuje pojmy, teorie a modely užité v druhé části práce. Empirická část pojednává o realizované studii, diskutuje získané výsledky, uvádí limity studie a představuje možnosti dalšího výzkumu. Sběr dat probíhal formou kvantitativního dotazování pomocí testové baterie obsahující dva osobnostní dotazníky (BFI-10, IVE), dotazník cestovní motivace a položky základních demografických údajů. Výsledky studie ukazují rozdíly v míře extraverze a přívětivosti v závislosti na počtu i typu absolvovaných zahraničních cest. Studie do českého prostředí přináší dotazník push a pull cestovních motivů a slouží jako pilotní studie v nové oblasti výzkumu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on identifying differences in personality traits and travel motivation, according to the travel style of university students. The theoretical part presents concepts, theories and models used in the second part of the thesis. The empirical part reports about the realized study, discusses the results obtained, states the limitations of the study and presents possibilities for further research. Data collection was carried out by quantitative questionaire using a test battery containing two personality questionnaires (BFI-10, IVE), a travel motivation questionnaire and basic demographic information. The results of the study show differences in extraversion and agreeableness depending on the number and type of foreign trips. A study brings a push and pull questionnaire into the Czech environment and serves as a pilot study in the new field of research.
