Chemical and physical methods of winter wheat treatment

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce bylo popsat chemické a fyzikální metody ošetření osiva pšenice. Práce se zabývá výsledky maloparcelních pokusů s pšenicí ozimou prováděných na pozemcích školního podniku Mendelovy univerzity v Žabčicích a zároveň výsledky z laboratorních podmínek na Ústavu pěstování, šlechtění rostlin a rostlinolékařství, AF MENDELU.Do pokusu byly zařazeny tři odrůdy pšenice ozimé (Julie, Gordian, Frisky) ošetřené pěti rozdílnými variantami. V roce 2018 bylo u jednotlivých variant stanoveno procento klíčivosti a sledován zdravotní stav osiva, které bylo použito pro zásev pokusu. Následně byl na poli hodnocen počet rostlin a počet klasů na 1 m2. V následujícím roce byl ze sklizené produkce stanoven výnos, HTS a objemová hmotnost. V laboratoři bylo zjištěno, že kvůli nevhodnému skladování bylo osivo napadeno houbovými patogeny, které ale v polních podmínkách na osivo nemají negativní vliv. Tato kontaminace znemožnila získat věrohodné výsledky zdravotního stavu výchozího osiva. U procenta klíčivosti nebyly nalezeny rozdíly mezi variantami ošetření. Při HTS se vymykala odrůda Julie, nicméně ve všech variantách ošetření, jde tedy o provenienci osiva, ne ošetření. Mezi jednotlivými variantami ošetření nebyly nalezeny rozdíly. Ošetření pomocí Vibrance Gold mělo pozitivní účinek na hustotu porostu a výnos, na které reagovala nejvíce odrůda Frisky. Dle normy ČSN 46 1100-2 o minimální objemové hmotnosti nebyl u žádné z odrůd splněn minimální limit 760 g/l.

Abstract:

The main aim of this bachelor thesis was to describe chemical and physical methods of wheat seed treatment. The thesis presents results of small-scale experiments with winter wheat on the grounds of Mendel University in Žabčice and also with results from laboratory conditions at the Department of Crop Science, Breeding and Plant Medicine, AF MENDELU. The trial included three varieties of winter wheat (Julie, Gordian, Frisky), which were sown in five different treatments. In 2018 was detetermined the percentage of germination and monitored the health status of the seed, which was afterwards used for sowing the trial. Subsequently was evaluaated the number of plants and ears per 1 m2. The following year were determined the yeld and 1000 seed weight (TSW) from the harvested production. In the laboratory was found that due to improper storage was the seed infested with fungal pathogens,which have not in field conditions negative effect on the seed.This contamination made it impossible to obtain reliable results on the health status of the seed. No differences were found in the percentage of germination between treatment variants. The Julie variety stood out in TSW, however in all treatment variants, so it was due to provenance of the seed, not the treatment. No differences were found between the individual treatment variants. Vibrance Gold treatment had a positive effect on the number of plants and yield, to which the Frisky responded the most. According to the ČSN 46 1100-2 standard about minimum bulk density, the minimum limit of 760 g/l has not been comply.
