Atom in School Education

Abstract:

Práce popisuje rozhodující etapu vývoje molekulárně-atomárního pojetí stavby látek. Sleduje postupné zrání této koncepce od hypotetických představ zakladatelů chemického atomismu (na počátku devatenáctého století) a jejich následnou avogadrovskou modifikaci (v jeho průběhu) přes úspěchy i problémy kinetické teorie plynů až k nepochybnému experimentálnímu důkazu částicové struktury látek (na počátku století dvacátého). Text zmiňuje i didaktické aspekty výkladu této problematiky na středních školách.

Abstract:

Thesis describes crucial period of development in molecular-atomic conception of structure of matter. It goes through gradual ripening of this view starting with hypothetical ideas of founders of chemical atomism (at the beginning of the nineteenth century) and modification of the ideas by Avogadro followed by successes and problems of kinetic theory of gases and finished by irrefutable proof of particular structure of matter (at the beginning of the twentieth century). The thesis also mentions didactical aspects of teaching this problematics at high schools.
