Hillfort Vlastislav between myths and reality

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou pověsti o lucké válce, jež bývá dávána do souvislosti se slovanským hradištěm ve Vlastislavi v Čechách. Kromě dané pověsti se práce soustředí na konfrontaci literárních pramenů s informacemi zjištěnými výzkumem, jenž byl proveden archeologem Zdeňkem Váňou. Zabývá se také souvisejícími lokalitami, teorií kmenového osídlení Čech, toponomastickými daty a v rámci interdisciplinárních vazeb se zaměřuje i na to, jak danou problematiku vnímají vybraní historici a archeologové. Hlavním cílem práce bylo najít odpověď na otázku, zda lze dnešní hradiště ve Vlastislavi ztotožnit s Vlastislaví, o níž se dozvídáme v Kosmově kronice.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is a legend about a war called lucká válka. This war might have a connection to slavic hillfort Vlastislav, which is situated in Czechia. Besides the legend, the thesis is also focused on confrontating literary sources with information founded by research, which was done by archaeologist Zdeněk Váňa. Furthermore, the thesis discusses related locations, theory of tribes settling in Bohemia, toponomastic facts and in terms of interdisciplinary connections it also follows up oppinions of historians and archeologists. The main aim of this thesis was to find an answer whether hillfort Vlastislav could be identified with another hillfort, which is mentioned in Chronica Boemorum.
