Abstract:
This diploma thesis intends to judge the significance of the drama adaptations by Friedrich Dürrenmatt which were originally written by William Shakespeare. Particularly, it tries to consider the significance of the adaptations for the modern age. Tato diplomová práce se snaží posoudit význam dramat přepracovaných Friedrichem Dürrenmattem, původně napsaných Williamem Shakespearem, a to obzvláště jejich významem pro moderní dobu. Konkrétně jsou to „Král Jan“, „König Johann nach Shakespeare“, „Titus Andronikus“ a „Titus Andronicus: Eine Komödie nach Shakespeare“.
