Analysis of UN peacekeeping operation in Darfur from the perspective of key members of the Security Council
Abstract:
Práce analyzuje mírovou operaci OSN v Dárfúru v kontextu zájmů jednotlivých klíčových členů Rady bezpečnosti OSN. Zkoumá jejich postoje k vytvoření mise a vyslání mírových jednotek, stejně jako k průběhu samotné mise. Hodnotí, jak tyto postoje ovlivnily rozhodnutí Rady bezpečnosti, včetně rychlosti a kvality zásahu v Dárfúru.
Abstract:
This paper analyzes UN peacekeeping operation in Darfur in the context of Security Council members interests. It investigates their positions towards the creation and the deployment peacekeeping forces, as well as process of the mission. It evaluates how these positions influenced decisions of the Security Council, including pace and quality of the intervention in Darfur.
