Nurses' Knowledge of Moist Wound Healing

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit míru znalostí sester pracujících v ambulantní péči v oblasti vlhkého hojení ran. Teoretická část je rozdělena do tří hlavních kapitol (definice a dělení nehojících se ran, metoda a materiály vlhkého hojení ran, vzdělávání sester v oblasti hojení ran). Kvantitativní výzkumné šetření bylo provedeno technikou nestandardizovaného dotazníku vlastní konstrukce. Dotazník obsahoval 19 položek, zaměřených na zjištění míry znalostí v oblasti hojení ran, zmapování faktorů ovlivňujících používání materiálů vlhkého hojení ran a názory sester na jejich kompetence v oblasti hojení ran. Výzkumného šetření se zúčastnilo 96 sester pracujících v ambulantní zdravotní péči ve věkovém rozmezí 21-71 let. Jejich vzdělání bylo středoškolské, vyšší odborné a vysokoškolské. Úroveň znalostí respondentů je uspokojivá, avšak teoretické znalosti sester jsou v některých oblastech stále nedostačující. Úspěšnost vědomostního testu, který byl součástí dotazníkového šetření byla 70 %. Kompetence sester v oblasti vlhkého hojení ran jsou velmi příznivé, sestry jsou si vědomy, jaké jsou jejich kompetence a jak je mohou využít. Faktory, které ovlivňují používání materiálu vlhkého hojení ran, jsou především nedostatek materiálu v ambulancích. Nicméně 95 % respondentů materiály vlhkého hojení ran aktivně využívá.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out what knowledge the district nurses have in the area of moist wound healing. The theoretical part is divided into three main chapters (definition and division of non-healing wounds, method and materials of moist wound healing, education of nurses in the field of wound healing). The quantitative research survey was carried out by using technique of a non-standardized questionnaire of my own design. The questionnaire contained 19 items aimed at determining the level of knowledge in the area of wound healing, mapping the factors influencing the use of moist wound healing materials and the views of nurses on their competencies in the field of wound healing. The research survey involved 96 nurses working in ambulatory health care system. Their age varied within a range of 21-71 years. They had successfully studied and finished grammar school, professional college or high school. Respondents' level of knowledge is satisfactory. However, nurses' theoretical knowledge is still insufficient in some areas. A part of the questionnaire survey was knowledge test and its' success rate was 70%. The level of nurses' competencies in the area of moist wound healing is very favorable: Nurses are aware of their competencies and how they can use them. Factor affecting active use of moist wound healing material is mainly the lack of that material at ambulatory clinics. However, 95% of respondents are to use moist healing materials actively.
