Abstract:

Tomková, Zuzana. Using Literature in ELT in the Secondary School: Extensive Reading. Brno, MU 2008, p.78. The diploma thesis "Using Literature in ELT in the Secondary School: Extensive Reading" deals with the use of literature in language teaching with the main focus being on the special aspects of extensive reading. An example of the extensive reading programme is represented by six lesson plans which reflect the theoretical aspects of extensive reading. The contribution of extensive reading to the improvement of learners' writing abilities and their attitude to reading and language learning is investigated in a small-scale research.
