Social relations of pupils with minor mental retardation in the classroom at elementary school

Abstract:

Závěrečná práce "Sociální vztahy žáků s lehkou mentální retardací v třídním kolektivu na základní škole" se v teoretické části opírá o vymezení pojmu mentální retardace, podává přehled jejího vzniku, poukazuje na příčiny a nastiňuje následnou edukaci jedinců s touto diagnózou. Další kapitoly popisují legislativní opatření, třídní klima a vztahů žáků ve třídě. Práce poukazuje na to, jak intaktní žáci vnímají a zároveň spolupracují s žáky s lehkou mentální retardací ve svém třídním kolektivu a jaký má vliv diagnóza a povahové vlastnosti žáků s lehkou mentální retardací na postavení v třídních kolektivech na základní škole. V praktické části je uvedena kombinace dotazníkových šetření, a to standardizovaný dotazník zaměřený na klima třídy s doplňujícími otázkami směrující k popsání vztahů ve třídě. Cílem je vyhodnotit postoje a pocity žáků, kteří jsou v každodenní interakci s žákem s LMR, zmapovat vliv přítomnosti inkludovaného dítěte ve třídě na jejich sociální a vzdělávací potřeby včetně přehledu o povědomí žáků o diagnóze LMR.

Abstract:

The final thesis "Social Relations of Pupils with Light Mental Retardation at Elementary School" in its theoretical part is based on the definition of the concept of mental retardation, gives an overview of its origin, points out its causes and follows the subsequent education of individuals with this diagnosis. The next chapters describe legislative measures, classroom climate and relationships among classmates. The work shows how intact pupils at elementary schools perceive and cooperate with pupils with light mental retardation, what influence the diagnosis and the nature of pupils with mild mental retardation have on their position in the class. The practical part contains a combination of questionnaire surveys - a standardized questionnaire which focuses on the classroom climate, and a questionnaire which aims to describe relationships of pupils in the classroom. The objective of the thesis is to evaluate the attitudes and feelings of pupils who interact with an LMR person on daily basis, to map the impact of the presence of such pupil in the classroom on their social and educational needs, including an overview of pupils' awareness of LMR diagnosis.
