Managing SMEs in a multinational environment (using the example of Regulus spol. s r.o.)

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá specifiky řízení MSP, zejména rodinných firem, na území několika zemí. V teoretické části jsou představeny základní koncepce mezinárodního podnikání, ať už se jedná o nadnárodní společnosti či MSP a jejich možnosti seskupování. Zbylá část práce se již plně věnuje skupině firem Regulus, která působí v oblasti vytápění a ohřevu vody na tuzemském trhu, na Slovensku, v Rumunsku a Německu. Podniky v jednotlivých zemích byly původně založeny jako dceřiné společnosti, nicméně v současné době se jedná o firmy sesterské, u nichž vystupuje jako ovládaná osoba tentýž člověk. Na příkladu této skupiny je ukázán nejen strategický význam odvětví, ale i význam seskupování podniků. Analytická část práce se věnuje struktuře a organizaci skupiny, stylu řízení firem, zanalyzován je i obchodní model skupiny a nástroje a způsoby finančního řízení skupiny, zejména formování transferových cen a problematika financování. Na závěr jsou vyspecifikována slabá místa v řízení a spolupráci a jsou zde představeny i možnosti a cesty pro zlepšení a dosažení vyšší efektivity ve skupině.

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with the specifics of SME management, especially family firms, in several countries. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts of international business are presented, whether they are multinational companies or SMEs and their grouping possibilities The rest of the thesis is fully devoted to the Regulus group, which operates in the field of heating and hot water preparation in the domestic market, Slovakia, Romania and Germany. All the companies in each of the countries were originally established as subsidiaries, but now act as sister companies with the same controlling person. The example of this group shows not only the strategic importance of the sector but also the importance of business grouping. The analytical part of the thesis is dedicated to the structure and organisation of the group, the management style of the companies, the business model of the group and the instruments and methods of financial management, especially the transfer pricing and financing issues. Finally, weaknesses in management and cooperation are specified and opportunities and ways for improvement and achieving greater efficiency in the group are presented.
