Abstract:
This thesis is a comparative analysis of English idioms related to music and their Czech counterparts. It provides a theoretical background for the purpose of the research and defines the term ‘idiom’. The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the collected idioms on the basis of semantic, lexical, and formal correspondence, and to classify them into respective categories.
