A successful virtual team

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou virtuálních týmů a úskalím virtuální spolupráce. Je určena především pro firmy, co se o problematiku virtuálních týmů zajímají, ale též studentům případně pedagogům. Klade si za cíl zjistit, jaké jsou klíčové aspekty fungujícího virtuálního týmu. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Cílem teoretické práce je představení vymezení virtuálního týmu, jeho charakteristik, úskalí virtuální spolupráce, a dále analyzování výsledků aktuální empirické studie RW3 CultureWizard z roku 2018. Závěr teoretické části je pak věnován existujícím školícím metodám pro virtuální týmy. Praktická část si klade za cíl popsat provedené výzkumné šetření, kterého se zúčastnily dva týmy firmy Deutsche Börse Group. Data byla sesbírána pomocí polo-strukturovaných rozhovorů, jejichž otázky byly sestaveny autorem na základě prostudované literatury. Cílem těchto rozhovorů bylo zjištění názorů členů virtuálních týmů na úskalí virtuální spolupráce a možné potřeby školení pro práci ve virtuálním prostředí.Závěrem byly vyzdviženy důležité aspekty úspěšných virtuálních týmů a dána doporučení pro zlepšení fungování analyzovaných virtuálních týmů a vytvoření školení podle podnětů respondentů.

Abstract:

The master thesis deals with the theme of virtual teams and the challenges of virtual cooperation. It is intended primarily for companies that are interested in virtual teams, but also for students or teachers. It aims to find out what are the key aspects of a functioning virtual team.Thesis is divided into two parts. The aim of the theoretical part is to introduce the definition of a virtual team, its characteristics, the challenges of virtual cooperation, and further analyse the results of the current empirical study RW3 CultureWizard from 2018. The conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to existing training methods for virtual teams.The practical part aims to describe the research survey, which was attended by two teams of the Deutsche Börse Group. Data were collected through semi – structured interviews, the questions of which were compiled by the author on the basis of the studied literature. The aim of these interviews was to find out the opinions of members of virtual teams on the challenges of virtual cooperation and possible training needs for working in a virtual environment.Finally, critical aspects of successful virtual teams were highlighted, and recommendations were given for improving the functioning of the analysed virtual teams and creating training according to the suggestions of the respondents.
