Grammar School in Žatec (Staatsobergymnasium in Saaz) and its Schoolmen in the Years from 1873 to 1902

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se soustředím na gymnázium v Žatci v letech 1873 až 1902. Tedy od roku, kdy bylo gymnázium zestátněno, až do stavby nové reprezentativní budovy. Kromě dějin gymnázia v tomto období se soustředím hlavně na pedagogický sbor na této škole, přičemž vycházím z osobních spisů zaměstnanců ústavu, které se dochovaly. Podle nich se snažím alespoň v nástinu zrekonstruovat pedagogický sbor na německém gymnáziu. V druhé polovině 19.století byli gymnaziální pedagogové v první řadě státní úředníci, přičemž jejich kariéra se řídila přesně danými pravidly, které určoval stát. I jejich společenské postavení bylo vázáno na jejich funkci ve státní správě. Zároveň se snažím přispět k pracím o německém školství v českých zemích, protože mnoho prací o dějinách školství a pedagogiky tento aspekt opomíjejí.

Abstract:

This bachelor work is about the grammar school in Žatec, which have a very rich history. From the year 1807 the school was controlled by the Premonstratensiar order from Strahov. In the year 1873 it was transfered in the state owner. In the year 1902 started construction of new representative school building. Especially the work is interested in the time 1873 - 1899, because in this time the school was governed from director Josef Hollub. The work is concetrate on the history of the school between the years 1873 and 1902 and is interrested in the teachers on this grammar school, their education, job and their social conditions. In the 19th century the teachers on the high school (especially in the classical grammar school) were considered for the scientist and improtant personalities in the society. The work is touching also the nacionals problems between German and Czech people and their influens on the school.
