Lights, Camera, Vietnam: Depiction of the Vietnam War in Selected Movies
Abstract:
Práca sa zameriava na dva americké filmy o Vietnamskej vojne: Platoon (Čata, Olver Stone, 1986) a Full Metal Jacket (Olovená vesta, Stanley Kubrick, 1987). Skúma, ako je tento konflikt v daných filmoch zobrazený a analyzuje vybrané aspekty Vietnamskej vojny a ich filmové spracovanie. Záver je porovnaním týchto dvoch filmov.
Abstract:
The thesis examines how the Vietnam War is depicted in in two American-made films, Oliver STone's Platoon (1986) and Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (1987). Analyzing issues and aspects of the war as depicted in these two film, the thesis aims to show how these two films differ from one another and what common features they display.
