Czech Women´s Clubs in Pilsen until 1948

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o českých ženských spolcích v Plzni. Popisovány jsou první pokusy žen o založení spolků v druhé polovině 19. stol. Těžiště práce pak spočívá v popisu spolků vzniklých po r. 1900. Jde o spolky katolické (Svatojosefská jednota paní a dívek, Jitřenka, Ludmila, Sociální studentské sdružení dívčí) a tzv. pokrokové (Klub ženské národní rady v Plzni). Popisován je vznik a vývoj daných spolků a zejména náplň jejich činnosti. Na konec práce jsou přidány přílohy obsahující tabulky s přehledy obsazení funkcí ve spolcích, přehledy přednáškové činnosti a dobové upoutávky na akce pořádané spolky, které byly uveřejňovány v denním tisku.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with czech women´s clubs in Pilsen until 1948. The initial part is focused on the fist attempts to found a women´s clubs in the second half of the 19th century. The main part of work deals with clubs founded after 1900. It deals with catholic clubs and so called "progressive clubs". It describes formation and developement of these clubs and particularly their various activities. At the end of the thesis are inserted attachments with charts of management of the clubs, charts of lectures they organized and the invitations that clubs published in period press.
